The Lucky Woman (2020)

In 2004, Thao Van paid an agent 8,000 US dollars to come to work in Taiwan. Three years later, when her contract was about to expire, Thao Van decided to escape, becoming a "runaway migrant worker." After she ran away from her former employer, she lost her residence permit and the health insurance. Drifting from one place to another, Thao Van has no choice but works illegally. As she could be caught by the police at any time, she has lived with worry since then. Duy Hung is also a runaway Vietnamese migrant worker. He paints on the walls in his room to express how he misses his family and hometown. After having lived in Taiwan for fourteen years, Thao Van returns to Vietnam. Has she got the life she longs for?
